About Us
At Roseville Parent Education Preschool (RPEP), we believe children learn best through play and meaningful connection. Since 1977, our cooperative preschool has brought families and educators together to create a nurturing, hands-on learning environment where exploration and discovery guide every day.
Our Story

Since 1977, the Roseville Parent Education Preschool (RPEP) has been a place where children’s natural creativity takes the lead. Rooted in play-based learning and built on the strength of parent participation, RPEP offers a unique environment where exploration, imagination, and connection flourish.
In 2012, RPEP found its forever home, a charming campus featuring two houses and three distinct playgrounds, each designed to inspire discovery and joyful play. Unlike traditional preschools, only one class uses the space at a time, giving children the freedom to explore at their own pace and follow their interests without the limits of scheduled rotations.

Inside, our classrooms are thoughtfully designed to support interactive experiences and open-ended play. The main house features a monthly-changing dramatic play area, a cozy literacy nook with puzzles and a parent library, and an inviting circle time space complete with climbing structures, building materials, and musical instruments. The second house offers rich sensory experiences through rotating sensory tables, small parts play, and weekly art projects.
Outdoors, three expansive playgrounds encourage movement, creativity, and wonder. Children can ride bikes on winding paths, play in sand and water, explore climbing structures and playhouses, and embark on adventures at the
zipline, fairy garden, or child-sized dig zone. Educational gardens and natural spaces add even more opportunities for learning through exploration.
This thoughtfully designed environment, nurtured by teachers and parents alike, allows children to learn and grow through play, curiosity, and joyful discovery every day.

Family Responsibilities
At RPEP, every family is an essential part of our preschool community. As a cooperative, RPEP relies on the involvement of each family to maintain our vibrant, nurturing community. Each caregiver contributes time, effort, and energy to create a nurturing and engaging environment for all children.
When everyone participates, our community stays strong, tuition remains affordable, and children benefit from seeing their families play an active role in their education.

Adult School Enrollment
As part of our partnership with Roseville Adult School, all caregivers are enrolled as adult school students and earn ADA hours by meeting participation requirements. Families also attend bi-monthly business and education meetings at Roseville High School (held the second Tuesday of every other month from 6:30–8:30 PM). These meetings often feature guest speakers and offer valuable opportunities for learning, connection, and collaboration.

School Jobs
Families are asked to complete 6–9 maintenance hours per year (6 for Toddler & Me, 9 for AM Class). Maintenance days are typically held on Saturday mornings and focus on maintaining and improving our campus. It’s a hands-on way to care for our beautiful environment and share in the pride of keeping it welcoming for our children.

Fundraising
Fundraising is a key part of sustaining our school and enriching the RPEP experience. Participation in fundraising events helps fund scholarships, music, and special programs throughout the year. Families contribute through event planning, raffle ticket sales, or donation outreach and every effort makes a difference and keeps our cooperative community thriving.
